Our Sunnegg: A house with character
The Sunnegg Philosophy & History
Deeply rooted. That's how you could briefly describe the Sunnegg - from the ambience to the cuisine to the service. Ours is a simple, authentic hospitality in a family friendly atmosphere. The Sunnegg stands for quality over quantity and consistency over decades. The goal: satisfied guests who enjoy their stay - and are already looking forward to coming back.
In 1909, the Sunnegg was first mentioned in a document: the new building of Sunnegg was called Keller-Weinhof. After several changes of ownership, the property was taken over by the Thaler family in the 1950s and over the years was first run as a small Törggele restaurant and then converted into a guesthouse.
The host family Thaler
We stand for special hospitality since three generations, and the fourth one is already preparing to start. The Sunnegg is our home and our guests are very important to us. We are happy to take care of your wishes, we are here for you.
Alexander is everywhere in the house. The landlord cooks for you with his team, works in the wine cellar and takes care of the paperwork. During his traineeship years in Italy and abroad he cooked, among others, at Hangar 7 in Salzburg. Certainly not a host like any other. In his leisure time, he enjoys traveling with his family.
Evi welcomes you with a smile in the morning and is glad to serve you. In the restaurant she guides you expertly through the wine list and always has the right glass for the perfect culinary experience. When she is not at Sunnegg, she enjoys hiking and mountaineering.
Viktoria & Laura are the new generation of the house, both have big plans - inside and outside the Sunnegg.
Grandmother Irmgard is the good soul of the house. Decoration and gardening are her specialty. She also takes care of the cleaning of the apartments. In short, she is simply there if you need her.
Grandfather Hermann is the manager of the vineyard and he is always ready to help wherever there is a need. From weeding the garden to entertaining guests, he really takes care of everything. At the same time, he still finds time for unusual projects, such as renovating a church. He has many stories to tell, and he knows Bressanone and the surrounding area very well. Just wait and see what tips he knows and what nostalgic stories about Bressanone and South Tyrol he will tell you at the bar.
